Privacy policy

Inchli is a trading name of Aethus Ltd, which is the data controller for the Inchli app and this website. Contact: hello@inchli.com.
The short version
- You can use Inchli without an account. Then everything stays on your iPhone and we receive nothing.
- If you sign in with Apple, we keep a copy of what you've written in the app (tasks, habits, goals, check-ins and what you've ticked off) so it's backed up and works on another iPhone.
- We never upload how your attention behaves. Patterns like "you get more done before 11am" are worked out on your phone and stay there.
- No advertising, no tracking SDKs, and we never sell or share your data.
What we hold, and why
- Your Apple account identifier: a random id from Apple that lets you sign in. We don't ask for your name or email. Lawful basis: contract.
- What you write in the app, so it can be backed up and synced. Lawful basis: contract.
- Your time zone and a device push token, so reminders arrive at the right time and your other iPhones can update. Lawful basis: contract.
- Subscription status from Apple (the plan, renewal date and whether it's a free trial), so we can remind you before a trial ends. We never see your payment details. Lawful basis: contract.
- Server logs (IP address and request times) for security, kept for up to 30 days. Lawful basis: legitimate interests.
We count usage in aggregate (for example, how many people checked in this week) and never look at individual entries to do it.
Where it's stored
On a server we run ourselves with OVHcloud in the UK or EU, with encrypted off-site backups. Apple handles sign-in, notifications and payments under its own privacy policy.
How long we keep it
Until you delete your account. Deleting it in the app (Settings, then "Delete my account and data") ends every session at once and removes your data from our server within 24 hours. Backups age out within 30 days, and a few monthly backups within 12 months.
Your rights
You can export everything from the app (Settings, then Export my data), correct it in the app, or delete it. You can also ask us for a copy, object to processing, or complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).
Children
Inchli is not meant for children under 13.
Changes
If we change this policy in a way that matters, we'll say so in the app first.
